Hendrik Barend Koekkoek (Dutch, 1849-1909). "Winter Travelers", oil on canvas, signed lower right of center. Large painting depicting a man traveling with his two daughters along a snow covered forest path in foreground away from a house or village set in the distance within a clearing past the forest, another figure setting out on the same path behind them, with an enormous tree to right of figures and a smaller grouping of trees to their left, the skies in tones of pink and purple suggesting sunset. Framed approximately 48.5" x 38.25", unframed approximately 40" x 30.125".
