Harlequin Pair of George II/III Silver Shell-Form Salt Cellars, London, one 1749, possibly Eliza Godfrey, the other 1763, maker's mark rubbed, possibly John Robinson II, both formed as ruffled shells with gadrooned rims, gold washed interior, shell handles, and pierced rocaille base, engraved to underside of shell rim with small crest, ht. 2 1/4 and 2 3/8 in., approx. 10 troy oz. age typical wear to goldwash; age typical minor surface wear. Makers'' marks rubbed.
