Two Portrait Minature on Ivory of Jane Appleton Pierce, attributed to Clarissa Peters Russell, (Mrs. Moses B. Russell), Massachusetts, 1809-1854, unsigned. Watercolor on ivory, c. 1845, one shows the child as a baby dressed in a white gown, the other showing the child a few years older wearing a red dress, 2 1/4 x 1 3/4, 2 1/2 x 2 in., housed together in a brown embossed leather case, the baby with an embossed brass oval mat. Condition: Some light scratches and fading on the portrait of the baby. Some light scratches- to face, rt. arm, and background, and fading on the portrait of the baby.
