Two Small Painted Pine Wooden Pails and a Covered Firkin, America, 19th century, stave and iron hoop construction, with wire bails and turned handles, one painted red , the other blue, the blue-painted firkin with turned cover, (wear), ht. 3 3/8, 10 1/4 in. red pail- appears to be original red paint, white -painted interior several slivers of losses on staves above top hoop, losses on bottom of a few staves, hoops a little looses, there has been a loss on one bail end; blue pail-hoops loose and painted green; firkin- loss on knop, appears to have original paint although there is some red under spots of the hoops, the hoops had gilt on them at one time.
