Transfer Decorated Liverpool Creamware Jug, England, early 19th century, black transfer decoration accented with polychome enamel, one side depicting a spreadwing eagle and American shield surrounded by a chain of sixteen states, the reverse showing the ship UNITED STATES, the name J. BERRY inscribed under the spout, (old spout repair, cracks, discoloration), ht. 9 3/8 in. The side with the chain of states has 3 3/4 in crack from rim, a spreading crack through lower area of chain, the other side with a 2 in. crack from rim.
