Shaker Oval Sewing Box, America, late 19th/early 20th century, pine lid and base with maple sides and lid rim joined with four "fingers" fastened with copper tacks, swing handle, the interior lined with beige silk, (minor imperfections), ht. with handle upright 8, wd. 8 1/4, lg. 10 1/2 in The lining around the sides is gone and loose from the lid, few moisture spots on the lid, the ends of the fingers are rounded rather than squared, the copper rivets fastening the handle have an embossed blossom on them.
