Pepys, Samuel (1633-1703), Manuscript document signed, dated February 4th, 1673, one page, to the Principal Officers and Command of the Navy, by order of King Charles II, appointing James Patience (? ) to be master carpenter and bestowing wages, framed with both portraits, 9 1/4 by 7 1/4 in., (reinforced edges to reverse and taped to mount along one side, loss to left edge, not affecting text, age typical minor defects).
