Marius Jean Antonin Mercié (1845-1916), Bronze Plaque Depicting a Scene from the Fontaine Fable The Wolf, a Mother, and Her Child, rectangular, depicting a seated woman in an interior, chastising a crying child, as a wolf peers in the cottage door, Barbedienne foundry, with gilt bronze border and mahogany frame, plaque sight size 9 5/8 x 7 5/8, frame 14 x 11 3/4 in. good, with minor patina rubbing, and a few verdigris spots.
