French Baroque Revival Ormolu-mounted and Marble-top Mahogany Center Table, labeled "Forest, 81 rue de Cambaceres, Paris," c. 1880, with rectangular brown and beige-veined marble top above a frieze mounted with a lion mask grasping a berried husk, with shells and foliage to the corners, angular tapered legs with open panels of flowerheads and oak leaves, joined by a shaped X-form stretcher, on shaped feet, ht. 34 1/2, wd. 84, dp. 44 in. Top with multiple chips and losses to lower edges; lower parts of the legs with cracking and restorations; stretcher with two cracks; various minor chips throughout; age typical additional minor defects.
