Needlework Sampler, "Content Flagler's Sampler Made in the 15 year of her age in the year of our Lord 1804," elongated rectangular sampler worked in silk threads on a green woven linen and wool ground, with rows of alphabets and pious verses, (imperfections), 30 x 7 in. , unframed. Note: Genealogical research finds Content Flagler was born in Jamestown, Chautaqua, New York. She married Laban Hazeltine (b. August 7, 1789, also of Jamestown, New York), and together they had eight children. Content died in May 1852. There are about four small holes in the background 1/2-1 in. lg, some fading of color
