Two Small Chippendale Mahogany and Gilt-gesso Looking Glasses, probably Boston area, c. 1810, each with scrolled crest with gilt feathers in a basket or an urn above a rectangular glass with gilt liner and scrolled base, (imperfections), 25 x 12 1/2, 28 x 14 1/4 in. Mirror 1 with feathers in a basket- left top scroll repaired, right top ear replaced, lower outer rt. scroll replaced, lower left scroll tip missing, gilt wear, backboard probably replaced, repair to l.l. scroll, old glass may or may not be original; mirror 2 with feathers in an urn- top rt. ear replaced, glass replaced, original backing Fretwork looks very similar to other Boston-area made mirrors.
