Lot of Two Old Master Drawings: Manner of Raffaello Sanzio (Italian, 1483-1520), Seated Figure, inscribed "Raphaele 103" and "J. F." in ink, conte crayon; Venetian School, 18th Century, The Three Magi, unsigned, ink and wash on paper. Sheet sizes to 5 1/2 x 3 5/8 in. (13.7 x 9.2 cm), unmatted, unframed. Condition: Toning, soiling, Figure with top third replaced and affixed to backing at upper corners, Magi with losses to corners. Provenance: Ex-collection of sculptor John Flaxman. N.B. A letter from Edward C. Hawks discussing the history of the drawings accompanies the lot. Figure glue tacked along top margin to backing mat, Magi with small paper losses to u.r. and u.l. corners.
