Antique Baroque Pearl and Gem-set Insect Brooch, composed of a heart-shape baroque pearl measuring approx. 35.00 x 26.00 x 16.00 mm and weighing 148.21 grains, within an 18kt gold shell set with rose and old mine-cut diamonds, ruby eyes, emerald highlight, lg. 2 1/2 in., possibly Continental hallmarks. weight of pearl is 9.604 g=9604 mg ; also measured at 48.027 cts. each grain = 64.79891 mg pearl is pierced in various spots to secure it into the mount but not drilled through (one big dark hole, 6 all together mostly small to accomodate small posts, 1 0r 2 are newer) emerald weighs .236 cts. approx. six diamond melee missing
