William & Mary Oyster Veneered and Inlaid Walnut and Laburnum Chest of Drawers, c. 1700, rectangular quarter-veneered top with strapwork inlay, above conforming case fitted with two short over two long drawers, teardrop pulls, on stemmed bun feet; covered all over with oyster veneered patches, ht. 31, wd. 37, dp. 23 in. Top with slight waviness and with minor repairs; left edge cracked and with minor loss to back left corner; drawer pulls replaced and with patches to old pull holes; feet with replacements; very good color and proportion overall; age typical minor defects.
