Continental Ivory and Tortoiseshell Snuff Box, late 18th/early 19th century, round, ivory with tortoiseshell edging, lid with central carved ivory scene of a tall ship off an exotic harbor, with figures and a temple in the foreground, in gold surround, tortoiseshell interior, dia. 3 1/4 in. Top with two splits to edges, one at 4 o'clock, the other at 9 o'clock; tiny fleabite loss to foot rim. Terrific quality.
