(Photography) Maison Bonfils Jews Mourning at the Wailing Wall, Jerusalem albumen print, signed, titled and numbered "245 Mur des Juifs un vendredi--The Jews wailing place, a Friday. " in the negative, circa 1880, 8 1/2 x 11 in., framed, with an accompanying exhibition catalogue. Note: The Wailing Wall is one of the most important sites of the Holy Land. The image is evocative of Jews praying for the reconstruction of the Temple and the arrival of the Messiah.
