Ivory and Jade Maori-style Adze, the ivory handle with a relief-carved Tiki figure with abalone eyes and incised detail, the stone head (possibly Maori) lashed with braided fiber, (blade repaired), ht. 13 3/4 in. Provenance: The Paul Rabut collection. Possibly made by one of the two famous fakers, Edward James Little (1876-1953) of England, or Frank Robieson of New Zealand; examples of their work were in the Sir Henry Welcome collection.
