Northern School, 17th Century Style Still Life with Seashells Unsigned. Oil on canvas, 18 x 12 3/4 in. (45.7 x 32.3 cm), in an ornately carved frame. Condition: Minute losses, scattered retouch, surface grime, craquelure. The losses are tiny, and are primarily near the upper edge and to the background . The retouch is primarily old, and consists of strokes, dashes, and glazes throughout the composition. The craquelure is relatively fine, but does have some areas that are very subtly cupped. The painting would benefit from cleaning.
