Scratch-built Wooden Ship Model of the Sloop-rigged Well Smack Emma C. Berry, Dr. Norman Selverstone, Cambridge, Massachusetts, 1996-97, the model was built according to plans from Mystic Seaport, mounted on a wooden plinth, ht. 5 3/4, wd. 5 5/8, lg. 24 1/2 in. Note: The original Emma C. Berry was designed and built by R.& J. Palmer Boatyards in Noank, Connecticut, and was launched June 5, 1866. She operated for 28 years transporting live mackerel to market, was then converted to a schooner rig, and was in and out of use for many more years. She now resides at Mystic Seaport, where she had been restored.
