Transfer Decorated Pitcher with Washington and Lafayette, early 20th century, pearlware pitcher, one side depicting a bust of George Washington, "The Country's Father," below the inscription "First in War, First in Pa[eace] and First in the Hearts [of His] Fellow Citizens," the reverse showing a bust of Lafayette, "[La]Fayette/The Nations Guest," below the inscription "In Commemoration, of the Visit of Gen'l LaFayette. to the U.S. of America, in the Year 1824," with a spreadwing eagle and American shield inscribed "Republicans Are Not Always Ungrateful," (chips), ht. 7 in. Two spout chips 1/2 in., 1/2 in. rim chip, three base edge chips, one 1/1 4 in, two 1/2 in. lg. wear and light scratches around body.
