Painted Cast Iron Mechanical Owl Bank, manufactured by J. & E. Stevens Co., Cromwell, Connecticut, c. 1880, the bank activated by placing a coin on the top of the branch and pressing the thumb piece on the back, turning the owl's head and depositing the coin into the bank, the figure with glass eyes, (paint loss, repaint, lacking base coin plug), ht. 7 1/2 in. mechanics work, flat head screw on rear is replaced with newer, some repaint mostly to treee and log.
