Cast Iron Squirrel and Tree Stump Mechanical Bank, Mechanical Novelty Works, New Britain, Connecticut, c. 1881, the bank activated by placing a coin on the acorn and pressing the lever at the squirrel's foot, moving the squirrel forward and dropping the coin into the bank, (minor paint wear), ht. 4 5/8 in. the mechanics work, flathead screw on base probably replaced.
