Constantin Alajalov (Russian/American, 1900-1987) Cocktail Waitress Signed "alajalov" l. r. Gouache on board, sight size 21 1/2 x 19 in. (54.6 x 48.3 cm), framed. Condition: Toning, light staining, not examined out of frame. N.B. Alajalov is best known for his illustrations featured on the cover of various publications including The New Yorker , The Saturday Evening Post , Vanity Fair , and Fortune . He is possibly the only artist to have his work on the cover of both The New Yorker and The Saturday Evening Post. This piece may have been published in the New Yorker .
