Salvatore L. Aucello (American, b. 1903) Natures Best Signed "S.L. Aucello" l.r., artist and title identified on a label from The American Artists Professional League affixed to the reverse. Oil on board, 18 3/4 x 16 1/2 in. (47.6 x 41.9 cm), framed. Condition: Surface grime. N.B. Aucello is best known for his public murals in New York City. Constructed of wood, tile, and mosaic, his most famous mural was completed for the Chrysler Building. Aucello studied at the National Academy of Design and was a project planner for the Public Works of Art Project.
