Decoupage Decorated Trinket Box, America, late 19th century, square box with overhanging hinged lid, the top and sides with applied die-cut silver and gilt paper designs, the top with an eagle grasping arrows, olive branch, and banner, surrounded by floral and leafy vine borders with birds, the sides with unicorns and cherubs on an ornate plinth inscribed "Engraved W. B. Terry Providence R.I." flanked by birds and flower sprigs, the front with a lady and a gentleman beneath a faux heart-shaped escutcheon, ht. 3 3/4, wd. 9 3/8, dp. 9 in.
