Mochaware Chamber Pot, England, c. 1830, chamber pot with flat rim decorated with tricolor black, brown, and blue slip-trailed "twigs" above the swelling body bearing ochre, gray, and black bands, the two ochre bands with blue, black, and white "cat's eyes," the broader gray band with alternating looped earthworm in blue, ochre, and white slip, extruded handle with cut terminals, (one 1/2 in. triangular rim chip, faint spider in base), ht. 5 3/4, dia. 11 3/8 in. Provenance: Nathan Liverant and Son, Colchester, Connecticut; Jonathan Rickard.
