Two Faience Glazed Earthenware Covered Mugs, Germany, 18th century, one with quatrefoil reserves with yellow, green, and blue, floral decorations on a mulberry sponged ground, flanked by blue bands, with pewter mounted rim and hinged cover engraved "C. E. 1799"; the other with mulberry sponged foliage flanking a handpainted figure of a strolling man, with hinged pewter cover, (repaired handle, cracks, cover dent, base edge roughness on the first, repaired crack, rim chip, on second), ht. 10 1/2, 8 5/8 in.
