French School, 18th century. "Young Sculptor", oil on canvas laid down on board, apparently unsigned. Supraporte painting depicting a young boy in teal blue artist robe and head wrap holding a mallet and chisel to a marble bust set atop a wooden crate with many other crates and sculptures strewn about the scene. Painting framed in a period gilt and carved wood frame incurvate to each edge, meant to be hung above an interior doorway. Overall approximately 30.25" x 35.75".
