Cast Iron Jenny Lind Dressing Mirror, America, 19th century, the mirror frame with dancing cherub finial above pierced oval chain and leaf border oval frame, which swivels between two female figures with hoop skirts on a triangular support of grain stalks, an American flag and shield, and foliage, further supported on a rectangular, leaf and shell form stand, gilded surface, (some wear to surface), ht. 23 5/8, wd. 13 1/2, dp. 6 3/8 in. Note: Jenny Lind, "the Swedish Nightingale," was a popular female vocalist in America and Europe, who made her American debut in New York City, September 11, 1853.
