Clark, Abraham (1726-1794), Signer from New Jersey, Autograph Letter Signed, November 5th, 1793, two pages, to the Honorable Robert Morris, concerning the pension claims of William O'Brien, a Revolutionary War veteran, commenting at length on O'Brien's service record and the circumstances surrounding his claims, with holograph address panel and extensive docket, (good, some burn through). Text in part: Wm. O'Brien served several years in the Continental Army & after serving the time of his enlistment was discharged; he then inlisted [sic] in the regiment raised by New Jersey for one year for the purpose of guard; that in this service while on duty in Eliza. Town...in a fray which happened between a soldier and his wife which near knocked him down over a stick of timber produced a rupture in the rim of his belly, that in constant hope of a recovery he omitted applying for pension.
