Francesco Conventi (Italian, b. 1855). "Young Neopolitan", cast bronze, signed below right foot "Conventi". Charming diminutive sculpture depicting a lanky young boy walking barefoot wearing shorts and an open necked tunic bracing a long iron behind his back and under both armpits while holding the ends with his hands, the boy walking forward with right leg in front and holding a jovial expression on his face below a wide brimmed hat, sculpture mounted to a red inlaid black marble square plinth decorated to front with incised scroll patterning. Overall approximately 11" x 4.5" x 3.375"
