Continental, early 20th century. Large Empire style black lacquered portico form mantle clock with applied gilt metal ormolu and capitals, composed of a rectangular base with four Doric columns supporting a large bronze dial. Dial signed "Duplat rue Havre," movement marked "Peons," and underside of base stamped with retailer mark "W.E. Taylor Clock Co. / 8 Cortlandt St. N.Y." Approximate height 19.7", width 10", depth 5.4".
