Alex de Andreis (Belgian, 1880-1929), "Cavalier in Red", oil on canvas, signed lower right. Figural painting depicting a bust length portrait of a male cavalier in traditional dress with large black hat, white collar, and red cape with serious facial expression, holding his sword in gloved hand. Figure standing in an interior with diamond patterned paned glass at left and wood paneling at right in background. Framed approximately 40" x 33.75". Unframed approximately 32" x 26.25". Accompanied with copy of original invoice from E.F. Dietrich Detroit Art and Auction Rooms dated 1935 upon request.
