Louis Barthelemy (French, 19th/ 20th century). Pair, "Lute Players", cast bronze, bone, and onyx, signed to back of base. Circa 1920s. A pair of cast bronze diminutive figural sculptures depicting lute players, each bronze figure wearing traditional French jester or entertainer costuming with frilly lace collar over coat with wide arms and large buttons, the figure's head of carved bone and turned up to the sky with bronze lute lying facedown at his feet, the figural sculptures each mounted to a thick square slab of green onyx with curved corners. Each marked beside signature "Made in France". Overall approximate height 9.25", 3.5" square at base.
