Christopher Roby (American (Massachusetts), 1861-1867). A M1860 Cavalry sword, dated 1861, from the American Civil War, with leather wrapped handle under trefoil brass guard with arching steel blade. Base of blade marked to one side with a linear "C. Roby" over a half-circular "W. Chelmsford" and a linear "Mass." Approximate overall length 40.5". Blade length approximately 34.5".
