PICTORIAL FORE EDGE BOOKS "HUDIBRAS: IN THREE PARTS" BY SAMUEL BUTLER TWO VOLUMES, 1799:Published by Vernor and Hood, printed in London by T. Bensley, 1799. Having an embossed red leather and gilt over board covers with marbled end pages. Books include a total of 39 illustrations, after Hogarth, mostly of mob/riot type images including 1 fold out image in Volume II. The fore edge of each book depict a violent mob scene, the other edges are gilt. Both books include a blue ribbon attached to the binding for a marker.
