MINTONS 'DENMARK' EARTHENWARE DESSERT PLATES (18), & PAIR OF COMPOTES, 1878, SET OF 20 PIECES:Including 18 plates, W. 8 7/8", and 2 dessert compotes, H.3", W.9 3/8"; each of octagonal shape with transfer-decorated floral medallion at the well, diapered pattern at the cavetto, and flowering tendrils and leaves at the border in iron red, marked on the reverse with globe and banner reading "Mintons", English registry mark above (dated April 10, 1878), "Denmark" below.
