Two items from the Estate of Booker T. Washington, comprising of the Washington Family copy of "Little Journeys To The Homes of Great Teachers" by Elbert Hubbard, published by The Roycrofter in East Aurora, Erie County, New York in 1908, in which the first chapter is dedicted to the story of Booker T. Washington, with book inscribed to inside of cover "Edith Meriwether Washington" and "Ernest Davidson Washington"; and a black and white photograph of Booker T. Washington upon receipt of his Honorary Master of Arts Degree conferred by Harvard College on June 24, 1896, framed approximately 15" x 12.5".Note on provenance: Copy of letter from Booker T. Washington's granddaughter, Robin Washington Banks, confirming provenance is available upon request. Letter states her inheritance of the estate and its ultimate sale to the consignor of this lot.
