R. J. Horner (American, Late 19th century). Rosewood veneered library table of rectangular form with curved corners above apron with two short pull out drawers lined with bird's eye maple as secondary wood supported on four serpentine figural legs in the form of winged gryphons or harpies with scrolling, exposed round breasts and acanthus leaf tips above lion's paw feet. Legs joined by incurvate cross stretcher shelf. Interior of right drawer with label from R.J. Horner & Co. Furniture Makers and Importers, New York. Approximate height 29.25", width 49.5", depth 29.75".
