LENSKY, C. 1880, L 17":Having a double-edged blade with triple fullers on each side, engraved name in Cyrillic at reverse side translates "Mih. N. Lensky"; a silver grip with decorative rivets, embossed floral design and gilt at the obverse and along the sides, with niello and hallmarks on the reverse; the silver scabbard embossed en suite with niello work on the reverse side and identical hallmarks. Town hallmark of 84 and two animals flanking a shield and crown enclosed in a notched oval, possibly Novgorod (see photo), and unidentified assayer's/maker's mark "AN [reverse]" enclosed in a rectangle (see photo).
