Circle of Dean Wolstenholme, Sr. (British, 1757-1837). "October Pleasure Fair", oil on canvas, apparently unsigned. A period figural scene depicting many lively characters gathered to front of a stone cottage at center, the structure with high peaked thatch roof and with other steepled structure behind it at right, the figures to foreground a mixture of women, children, and men along with two brown horses at left beside a tree, one with rider still atop it, the many characters at center engaged in conversation and ware selling and spreading back to right aside structure in shadow. Paper label to verso "Davies and Turner, Shippers and Packers, England and Scotland". Framed approximately 25.5" x 32.25", unframed approximately 19.25" x 25.875". Provenance: From the Estate of Henry G. Muecke Jr., Atlanta, Georgia.
