GERMAN . 800 SILVER HINGED BOX, ENGRAVED 1889, H 5", L 6":Nicely fashioned egg form hinged box is surmounted by an avian form finial with flower and leaf motifs at the top of the lid and at one side of the box. There is also a medallion amidst the design for engraving. The underside is stamped with a crescent, a crown, "800" and the maker's mark. The top of the lid is engraved in German, commemorating an anniversary of service, and dated. Approximately 7.70 trz. Actual length is 5 3/4".
