AGATHON LÉONARD, DORÉ BRONZE & IVORY SCULPTURE, 17 1/2" X 7", THE CONFIRMAND: FRENCH (1841-1923):Sculpture depicts a young woman, standing, with a look of contemplation. She is wearing a head covering, a simple dress, a bracelet and clogs. In the crook of her right arm is a leafy branch and a cross dangles from her hands. Her face, neck and arms are carved ivory and the rest of the figure is a gilt bronze, the base that she stands on is also bronze and is incised "A. LEONARD". No other markings are apparent.
