Berks County, Pennsylvania miniature painted poplar marriage chest , of dovetailed construction, the lid with an ivory cartouche on a green stippled ground, inscribed "1765 HB LB", centering on interlacing tulip vines, the front with an outlined ivory cartouche with 2 birds flanking a tulip, the ends with conforming cartouches, all on a green stippled case with center scalloped drop and straight bracket feet, retains original wrought iron strap hinges, 8" h. , 19 1/2" w., 9 3/4" d.
