WARD BROTHERS 9 KT YELLOW GOLD & AMETHYST SCOTTISH THISTLE BROOCH, DIA 1 3/8":The gold brooch is in the form of the Scottish thistle with a round amethyst stone at the center. The back is stamped with the maker's mark "WBS" enclosed within a horizontal diamond form, ".375", the city mark of Glasgow and the number "3" and "9"; all marks are enclosed. Another set of marks are stamped on the back of the brooch and are "WBS 9C1". Total weight is approximately 5.8 grams.
