IRA & ELLA PETERS IRIDESCENT GLAZED POTTERY VASE, MID 20TH CENTURY, H 2 3/4", DIA 3 1/2":Simple, but beautifully fashioned iridescent glazed vase is in colors of copper, green and blue. The underside is incised "IRA ELLA". Ella Peters (1901-1994) was a Pewabic employee from 1938-1969. She was employed as Mary Stratton's (Pewabic Pottery's founder) personal secretary and carried on much of the day to day management of Pewabic's operations from the 1950's onward. Upon retirement in 1969, she with her husband Ira, continued to make pieces out of their home on Chadsworth in Detroit using original molds, glaze formulas and techniques. Most pieces signed ELLA IRA on bottom.
