MINTONS PATE-SUR-PATE PORCELAIN TRAY BY LOUIS SOLON, C. 1880, L 13", 'SURSUM CORDA':The rich blue ground decorated in white slip with the allegory of Charity as a winged infant seated atop a throne, wearing a crown and holding a staff, Latin inscription "Sursum Corda" (or "Lift Up Your Hearts") below, with six female attendants presenting their hearts. Signed "L. Solon" lower right (see photo). Stamped trademark in gold on the reverse (see photo). Measures L.13" x 7 1/2". Louis Marc Solon, 1835-1913.
