Varaldo Guiseppe (Cari) Cariani (Italian/American (Indiana), 1891-1969), "September Clouds", oil on artist's board, signed lower left, verso inscribed "September Clouds above V. d. Cariani". Landscape painting depicting a loosely rendered view of the countryside in late summer with low horizon line with large puffy white clouds over green fields and serpentine dirt road, likely portraying a view of Brown County, Indiana. Framed approximately 13.5" x 15.5". Unframed approximately 10.125" x 12". Provenance: Estate of Marie Goth, Brown County, Indiana whereby acquired by Mr. John West on October 6, 1980.
