GEORGE IV IRISH STERLING BASKET, DUBLIN, 1822, H 11" (TO THE HANDLE), DIA 13":A round sterling silver basket with swing handle, repousse decoration about the side includes winged nude females and eagles eating from a grape vine, the swing handle has mask and scroll terminals. Hallmarks are partially rubbed and include the king's profile, crowned harp, Hibernia, and date letter B in an oval, along with maker's mark "SB" enclosed, possibly for Stephen Bergin (see additional photo). Weighs approximately 43.1 troy oz.
