JACOB LAWRENCE, (AMERICAN, 1917-2000), GRAPHIC SERIES, SUITE OF 22, LEGEND OF JOHN BROWN:Complete series. Portfolio box with Robert Hayden broadside poem. Twenty two are framed. Also portfolio box . All twenty two silk screen prints are framed. All are #10/60. Each one is pencil signed and dated 1977. Purchased at Detroit Institute of Arts circa 1978. Eleven works are vertical and eleven works are horizontal. Vertical image size 19 3/4" x 14". Horizontal 14" x 20" and some at 13 3/4" x 19 7/8". Framed size is 26" x 20". Limited edition portfolio of 22 hand-screened prints produced by Ives-Sillman Inc. of New Haven, Conn. They were published by the Founders Society of the Detroit Institute of Arts in 1978.
